The Shki Biinoojii Well-Being Program supports Indigenous families in learning about Traditional and Clinical approaches to positive infant mental health. Parents can access one-to-one support to learn how to respond to the needs and behaviours of children, ensuring safety and security. Additionally, parents will learn to identify early risks by using ASQ screenings and increase knowledge of cultural practices regarding pregnancy and parenting. The Program actively involves grandparents to restore their position as Knowledge Keepers that help to support healthy family development.
Eligibility: First Nations, Metis and Inuit pregnant women or new mothers with children (newborn to 3yrs) who reside in Orillia, Barrie or Midland.
